Preschool

Dew Drop-In Childcare Center is excited to let you know about our new Preschool Program. Dew Drop Preschool will be starting September 10, 2007.

It is our intent to provide your child with the best opportunities to become a successful learner. We are planning fun activities and experiences that will allow the children to express the ways that they feel smart. This approach is based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences developed by Dr. Howard Gardner at Harvard University. Dr. Gardner has identified the following eight intelligences:

  • Linguistic Musical
  • Logical-Mathematical Naturalist
  • Spatial Interpersonal
  • Bodily-Kinesthetic Intrapersonal

What this means is that, in our classroom, your child will learn not only through reading, writing and math, but also through music, art, outdoor activities, drama, building, interacting with other children and by reflecting on the experiences they have had each day. Offering many different ways for your child to learn helps them to build confidence in themselves and in the way that they learn.

We will be offering two sessions; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for ages 3 ½ to Pre K and Tuesday and Thursday for 2 ½ to 3 ½ year olds. Class schedule will be as follows: 

    8:30-9:00 Drop-Off                  10:30-11:00 Group Activity
    9:00-9:45 Learning Centers          11:00-11:30 Gross Motor  
    10:00-10:20 Snack                   11:30-12:00 Free Play and Pick-Up
    10:20-10:30 Clean-Up and Bathroom

This schedule is a general outline of a typical day, some days activities might be shortened or lengthened as we see necessary.

Dew Drop Preschool will offer small class sizes, only eight children per age group, which will allow our teachers adequate time to spend with each child. We will also take fields trips to utilize great resources close by such as, The Children’s Museum, Bozeman Public Library, Bogart Park and Lindley Park.

Most importantly, Dew Drop Preschool offers your child a fun, safe, loving place to learn, explore, play and make new friendships.
